SIR - The Conservatives’ budget proposals for Bradford include keeping Queensbury and Bingley pools open, protecting community halls and public toilets, maintaining under- threat free parking schemes and reversing cuts to foster carers’ allowances.

They also indicate from where the money would come to support them (T&A, February 23).

I am sure that these ideas would have the support of the vast majority of Bradford’s ratepayers. Why then have these not been taken on board by our Labour-led Council?

Perhaps its leader, Councillor Susan Hinchcliffe, could explain to us all why these issues, much supported across the district, cannot be put in hand?
