FLASH mobs, film screenings and concerts are among 40 events being staged across the district to mark International Women’s Day.

The day is held annually on March 8 and the programme of events in Bradford will take place between March 3 and 12.

Highlights include the Women in Sports Conference at the Alhambra Studio on March 7, an exhibition on 1920s dress put together by survivors of domestic violence and a flash mob dance event on March 8 in City Park.

Councillor Susan Hinchcliffe, leader of Bradford Council, said: “We want everyone to come and enjoy this fantastic programme of inspirational talks, entertainment and activities to celebrate the achievements of women.

“Our district is an enterprising, energetic and extraordinary place and our women play a huge role in making it so.”
