PONY rides, ferrets, a 24-hour darts marathon and an Elvis tribute act are all part of a fun-filled weekend event for charity in Shipley.

Windhill Cricket Club is hosting the two-day event to raise money for Yorkshire Cancer Research.

There was also sand art, a bouncy castle, various stalls, a disco, face painting, raffle and a tombola.

Kelly Curthoys got up close to a ferret. Four-year-old Rebecca Senior enjoyed a ride on Harri the horse, supported by Chloe Broadbent.

Among the things for sale on the stalls were cakes.

And sure to be nursing sore arms tomorrow are Andrew Hawtin, Jane Hawtin and Andrew Riley, after the darts marathon which is due to finish at 6pm today.

A spokesman for the cricket club said: “Cancer is something everyone can relate to.

“Well done to all the people taking part we are very proud of you all.”
