AN eyesore former pub will go up for auction later this week.
The derelict Gardeners Arms on Holme Top Lane, opposite St Luke’s Hospital, will go under the hammer at the latest auction by Pugh, which is being held at Leeds United Football Club on Thursday.
The Grade II listed Victorian pub has been shut for several years, has suffered vandalism and was damaged by a fire in 2014. The auction catalogue says the pub is “in need of total refurbishment” and in in such a poor condition that they are unable to offer internal viewings before the auction.
The pub is up for auction with a guide price of £55,000. It failed to sell at an auction last year.
In 2011 plans were approved for the building to be converted into a place of worship, but the conversion never went ahead and planning permission has since lapsed.
