A WIDE range of events will be taking place this half term to keep children across the district entertained during the holidays.

A number of sports, video game, and nature themed events will be taking place between February 18 and 26.

At the National Media Museum, Japanese video game Yo-Kai Watch will be taking over the museum, with lots of video game themed events throughout the week.

Bradford Council will also be running Base and Dance Camps across the district.

The Base Camps, where children can have a go at sports like dodgeball and trampolining will run from Monday 20 to Thursday 24 at the Zara Sports Centre in Heaton, and Wednesday 21 to Wednesday 23 at Richard Dunn Sports Centre.

They will run from 9am to 3.30pm and cost £56 per child for the five day camp and £34 for the three day camp.

The Dance Camp will take place at Zara Sports Centre between 10am and 3pm from February 20 to 24, and cost £50 per child.

Councillor Sarah Ferriby, executive member for sport, said: “Our Base Camps and Dance Camps are always very popular and are a great way for youngsters to try things, improve their skills and make new friends in a safe and enjoyable environment.

“I’m sure they will have lots of fun.”

At Keighley Worth Valley Railway, Ice Age characters Sid the sloth and Scrat the squirrel will be making appearances on the trains on Tuesday, February 21 and Wednesday 22.

Bradford Bulls Foundation is holding a sports camp at Odsal Stadium from 9am to 3pm on Thursday 23, costing £20 a child, and to book a place visit bullsfoundation.org.

Bradford City are holding three day football camps costing £36 at Marley Stadium, Keighley, and Ben Rhydding Sports Centre, Ilkley, from Monday 20 to Wednesday 22, and two day camps costing £24 at Sandylands Sports Centre in Skipton and Tong High School from Thursday 23 to Friday 24.

On Tuesday 21, there is are bee themed activities from 1pm to 3pm at Cliffe Castle Museum, Keighley, and on Saturday 25 there will be a £2 entry printing workshop at Cartwright Hall in Lister Park.

On Wednesday 22 at Oakwell Hall, in Nutter Lane, Birstall, from 10.30am there will be a Bushcraft event for children aged over five, costing £5, followed by a free crafts event from 1pm.
