ONE side of the M62 near Bradford was closed this morning following a crash between a car and a lorry.

The collision, which involved a DAF truck and a Ford Fiesta, happened at about 7.20am in lane three of four on the eastbound carriageway, between junction 25 (Brighouse) and junction 26 (Chain Bar) and near to Hartshead Moor Services.

West Yorkshire Police said the eastbound carriageway was closed at 7.35am to allow emergency services to remove the two vehicles from the motorway.

The vehicles had partially blocked the carriageway prior to the full closure.

All lanes were re-opened at 8am, said Highways England.

A spokesman for Highways England said: "The lorry involved in the accident had come to rest in the middle of the carriageway near to Hartshead Moor Services."

The drivers of both vehicles were not injured, said police.

Traffic was queuing back to junction 24 (Ainley Top) as a result of the crash, as well as on roads leading to the motorway.
