THE co-owner of a Bradford cycling business has been nominated for a regional award.

Sandra Corcoron, 65, and her firm, Pennine Cycles, based in Thornton Road, has been shortlisted in the small business category at the Northern Power Award.

Her firm, which she has run with husband Paul since 2000, will do battle with seven other companies for the prize, which will be announced at the ceremony held in Manchester on March 7.

Pennine Cycles will be looking to add to its honours after it rode away with the Retail, Leisure or Hospitality Business of the Year prize at the Telegraph & Argus’s Bradford Means Business Awards for the last two years.

Mrs Corcoron said: “It’s fabulous, it is a real privilege and an honour to be nominated.

“We are a Bradford business and proud of it. It is a great achievement even to be nominated. I like to support women and to give back to women in general.”

Northern Power Women is a campaign to boost gender diversity from the North of England. It aims to transform business culture to increase opportunities for women.
