A HISTORIC pub in Frizinghall, Bradford, which closed last month is now back open to customers.

The Turf, on Keighley Road, has been taken on by Bradford entrepreneur Richard Farrar, who is said to have experience of running other pubs locally.

The pub was formerly known as The Park and underwent a complete refurbishment and change of name in autumn 2012. A plaque on the building states it was rebuilt in 1894.

The site’s former owners, Wear Inns, said that when it closed on January 29, the new owners had no plans to re-open as a pub, but Mr Farrar said: “We’re delighted to confirm we are open and all customers, new and old, are welcome.”

Michael Peel, of Ernest Wilson Business Agents, added: “This pub always used to be a popular destination and I’m sure it will be again.”
