THREE flats were left smoke damaged and without electricity following a blaze this afternoon.

Fire crews from Bradford, Odsal and Fairweather Green attended at 12.30pm today to tackle the fire that had started in a cupboard in a communal hallway at flats in Tiverton Walk, Holme Wood, Bradford.

A spoklesman for the fire service said the blaze had started around some electrical cables where they enter the buildings.

They had informed the electricity supplier who arrived to cut off the supply.

"The three flats were badly smoke damaged and had been left with no power. It was quite an intense fire," the spokesman said.

Firefighters used four breathing apparatus to tackle the fire and the last appliance left at around 4pm.

There were no reports of any injuries.
