AN anti-Trump rally in City Park this evening attracted hundreds of protestors who all called for American President Donald Trump’s impending visit to the UK to be banned.
Representatives from a number of organisations were present, including Bradford Stand Up To Racism, the CND, MEND (Muslim Engagement and Development), Bradford College and university and the UCU (University and College Union).
The event was supported by a number of speakers from the various organisations.

Richard Purdie, of Bradford Stand Up To Racism said: “We organised this protest in response to Trump’s Islamophobia and in protest of an organised state visit here later in spring.
“What you see here today is that people are prepared to come out in foul weather to stand up to what they believe is right.”
Councillor Richard Dunbar (Labour, Thornton and Allerton) said he spoke for himself and the Council in saying: “I am very proud of this city for its diversity and acceptance of everyone.”
