A MAN caught red-handed drug dealing in Bradford has been jailed for two and a half years.
Shamrez Ali (pictured) had 27 wraps of heroin and 41 wraps of crack cocaine on him when he was arrested.
At the time of his arrest, he was in a vehicle in St Leonards Road, Girlington, Bradford, on April 1 last year.
Ali, 29, of Whetley Lane, Girlington, pleaded guilty to possession of more than six grams of Class A drugs with intent to supply.
His barrister, Shufqat Khan, told Bradford Crown Court yesterday that Ali was a vulnerable man.
He said Ali had mental health problems.
He added that his client would find imprisonment difficult.
He was no longer addicted to illegal drugs, the court heard.
Ali had no previous convictions for similar offences, it was revealed.
Judge Jonathan Rose said Ali was caught red-handed.
The judge said Ali was dealing to pay off a drug debt.
