PROFESSIONAL hairdressers have returned to college to ensure they remain at the cutting edge of the industry.

Salon owners from across the city gathered at Bradford College for an employer training session run by haircare giant Wella.

The masterclass in colour was led by Amy Sontae and took place in the college’s state-of-the-art hair and beauty salons in its David Hockney Building.

Mrs Sontae said: “We invited in local salon owners and managers and delivered training on being creative with colour as well as corrective work and colour theory.

“They take what they have learned back to their salons and share it with their staff what is happening at the forefront of the industry."

Among the professionals taking part in the training day were Chelsea Larkin and Natalie Dewhirst, of Precious Hair and Beauty Lounge in Crossflatts.

Mrs Larkin said: "It was a very useful and interesting day.

“I trained at Bradford College so it was nice to come back and see the new salons and facilities, which are excellent, and to catch up with the tutors and keep up to date with the latest trends.”
