PLANS to increase the size of a Shipley fast food restaurant have been approved by Bradford Council.

McDonalds had applied for planning permission to make a number of changes to its branch at Tony Miller Approach, off Briggate.

The changes would include a refurbishment and extension to the restaurant, increasing the number of seats from 62 to 74, and a re-configuration of the restaurant’s drive thru area.

The company will also plant four new trees on the site.

Their application was approved this week, with planning officers saying: “The proposed alterations to both the front and rear of the restaurant are minor in scale and relate well to the existing building.

“The revised layout incorporates additional tree planting within the existing landscaped area and this is welcomed.”
