FIREFIGHTERS from Odsal and Bradford attended a bathroom fire in Bradford tonight which is believed to have been caused by a poorly discarded cigarette.
Crews were called out at 7.15pm to a house in Marshfield Street where the bathroom was said to be 'heavily involved' in fire.
A spokesman for Osdal Fire and Rescue Service said: "It is thought a cigarette had been stubbed out in an old plant pot in the bathroom and the dry compost has caught alight and the fire has spread. The bathroom was fairly heavily involved when we got there.
"There were two occupants in the house at the time but they had got out safely before we got there. We also found there were no working smoke alarms in the property so we fitted some."
Crews left the property at around 8.30pm.
