A MAN, who launched a violent and unprovoked assault on someone he had just been having a friendly conversation with on a train, is being hunted by British Transport Police.
The 27-year-old victim was on the 9.26pm Northern Rail service from Leeds to Skipton on December 23 when he had a chat with three men who had boarded at Leeds.
When the train got to Keighley at 10pm, things became hostile and one of the men ran up to the victim and punched him several times in the head. BTP have released a CCTV image (above) of a man they want to speak to about the assault.
PC Katalin Kelei said: “It is baffling why this man decided he would launch such a violent and unprovoked assault. Especially as the victim and him were having a friendly conversation moments before.”
