AN efit image has been released by police investigating an incident where a 16 year old girl was 'approached' by a man.

On December 23 there were reports of a "concern for safety" for a girl in Cottingley.

Police say reports of an alleged abduction were unconfirmed, but investigating officers have now released an image of a man they say "approached" a girl.

A police spokesman said: "Police would like to speak to this man after he allegedly approached a 16-year-old girl in Airedale Avenue, Cottingley at around 3.10pm on December 23.

"He is described as a white male, about six feet tall and is believed to be in his late twenties or early thirties.

"He had broad shoulders and his arms were described as big.

"He was wearing a plain black hooded top with a zip up the front.

"The hood was up and he was also wearing dark grey jeans which were frayed at the ends, and black shoes.

"Our enquiries are continuing into this incident and we have not received any further reports of similar incidents in the area.
