OLYMPIC, pushing for promotion from the First Division of the Bradford Sunday Alliance League, have also been making waves in the West Riding County FA Sunday Cup.

After successive 4-2 home victories over Fryston and league rivals Grass Greener United, Olympic were again in action at Seymour Street, drawing 2-2 at home to mid-table Premier Division Sandy Lane before being edged out 4-3 in a penalty shoot-out.

West Bowling visited Halifax side Beehive & Crosskeys, who beat Premier Division Oakenshaw in the previous round, but the class of the top-flight leaders shone through in a 7-0 triumph.

Bowling moved in front after three minutes through a Chris Wood shot being deflected by a home defender, and Wood was on the mark seven minutes later from a free-kick.

Josh Milner made it 3-0 with an unstoppable shot after good work by Wood and Aidan Day, but visiting keeper Ashley Onitiri then had to stand firm as Beehive cranked up the pressure.

However, Milner and Glyn Hirst made it 5-0 by the break, and they added two more goals in a one-sided second half, Nathan Woodward's 30-yard shot coming from a long Onitiri clearance, and leading scorer Hirst wrapping things up with his second after man of the match Milner had beaten three defenders.

In league action, second-placed Thornbury Celtic have narrowed the gap to leaders West Bowling to four points after a 10-2 victory over Buttershaw Celtic.

Oakenshaw returned to winning ways with an 11-1 thrashing of bottom club Bradford Moor.

Josh Hans bagged a hat-trick, and there were braces for Matty Dempsey and substitute James Gorman, with Andy Atkinson, Joe Walshe, Joe Hewitt and Aaron Metcalfe also on the scoresheet.

Paddy Dunne put Allerton in front in the first minute but a brace from Ventus United's Simon Gelder put the visitors in front before Jodi Crompton equalised.

In the First Division, Grass Greener United defeated Prospect 5-4 thanks to Andy Patterson (2), Andy Howland, Chris Wise and Craig Wiseman, with Prospect replying through Brandon Hammond (3) and Ben Hardy.

In Division 1A, Queensbury won 4-1 at Clayton Village Sports & Social, with David Armitage (2), Lewis Forsythe and Ben Pritchard on target.

Toller defeated Lane Ends 7-4 in Division 1B, with Hassan Khan and Liam Moore hitting hat-tricks for Toller, who also had Shoaib Mohammed on the scoresheet, with Andrew Barlow, Jack Mills. Liam Roper and Gareth Taylor replying.
