A MAN escaped serious injury after his car suffered serious front-end damage following a collision earlier today.

The driver is said to have been driving along Chapel Street, in Bradford, when a vehicle approaching along Peckover Street, from the direction of the cathedral, failed to give way and smashed into him.

The vehicle did not stop.

Police have acknowledged they are investigating a report of a road traffic collision in Chapel Street, which occurred at around 12.25pm.

They said: "This involved a silver BMW and a silver Subaru 4x4-type vehicle which drove away from the scene.

"The male driver of the BMW was not thought to be seriously hurt but is believed to have attended hospital for treatment.

"The collision will have caused damage to the front of the Subaru and anyone with information is asked to contact the Safer Road and Neighbourhood Support team on 101 quoting incident number 613 of December 21."
