THE son of Bradford Northern legend Trevor Foster has put his name forward to help galvanise future support for beleaguered Bradford Bulls.

Simon Foster, who now lives in Beverley, said he would do all he could to bolster fans’ support during a scoping meeting held yesterday evening.

Members of local Bulls’ supporters groups, including BradfordBullsSG founder Dave Hicks, and Sam Grundy, a member of Bullbuilder Supporters Trust, met with Foster as well as freelance commentator and journalist Mick Gledhill and Peter Dutton who worked on the commercial side of the business for the Bulls.

Their aim is to work with the eventual new owner and have a supporters' representative in regular contact with the board.

"I'm happy to work under my dad's legacy where he helped rebuild Northern in 1964 through spirit and integrity.

"We are in a difficult era. There is uncertainty about the Bulls and people are apathetic.

"We are waiting for a big announcement soon (on the news of a new owner) and when that comes out there will be a splurge of anticipation.

"Emmerdale actor Duncan Preston, who is a huge Bulls' fan and season ticket holder has also said he will help."

Gledhill added: "The Bulls brand is damaged. Going into administration this last time was like Groundhog Day, but with the right owner and through working with the fans we can look for a more positive future.

"We have heard that one of the potential buyers is happy to work with supporters."

The group has set up an email address – spiritof1964@outlook.com – for fans of the club to forward any ideas.

They are also setting up a survey through a Survey Monkey link where fans can answer questions on how the club can be moved forward and improved.
