CHILDREN got stuck in to family fun activities across Bradford city centre at the weekend.

The Family Learning Festival and the Born in Bradford project joined forces to offer a wide variety of things to do in Bradford City Library, Impressions Gallery, City Park, the Local Studies Library, and Margaret McMillan Tower.

There was face-painting, drawing, healthy food advice and various games.

At City Library, youngsters painted self-portraits of themselves on the windows, listened to themed story-times, and had a go at making bunting.

At Impressions Gallery, children took part in digital workshops and used cartoons to tell their life stories. There was the chance for children to build their own family tree at the Local Studies Library.

One dad, there with his two daughters, said: “They have had a brilliant time - I can’t get them away!”

In City Park, staff on a Born in Bradford bus gave updates on the medical research project, which aims to find out more about the causes of childhood illness.
