A SINGER from Bradford has been nominated for a prestigious award - and he needs public votes to win it.
Andy Ruddy, who grew up in Queensbury but now lives in London, is in the running for the ‘Best Unsigned Male’ accolade at the Best of British Unsigned Music Awards.
Mr Ruddy, whose debut album reached number six in the iTunes chart, said: “I was thrilled by this and things have gone great in the last year since the album was released and I really think I have a shot at winning.”
He added: “It always means more when people from home continue to support me after I’ve been away the last few years. It keeps me very motivated.
“If people are voting because they like the music then I’m delighted. Being nominated is nice - winning would be even better and a good platform for the second album I’ve been writing this year.”
The 27-year-old, who went to St Bede’s Grammar School and Bradford Grammar School, will be back in Bradford on December 2 for a homecoming gig at the Live Room, Caroline Street, Saltaire.
