LATEST UPDATE: WOMAN DIES AFTER FALL FROM CITY CENTRE CAR PARK
A witness has spoken of hearing two bangs after a woman fell from the roof of a multi-storey car park.
Ambulance crews and two police cars were called to Darley Street at 12.42pm today.
An air ambulance landed in the Mirror Pool in City Park to attend the scene.
Police cordoned off the section of Darley Street.
A witness, who did not wish to be named, said: "It was horrible.
"I thought she had fallen from the multi-storey car park.
"I saw her on the floor. I heard two bangs and I looked round and she was on the floor.
"Everyone who heard it thought it was gunshots."
The ambulance left the scene just before 1.30pm.
Police have confirmed that a 48-year-old woman was taken to Leeds General Infirmary with serious injuries.
