POLICE negotiators have successfully persuaded a man to come down from a car park ledge in Northgate.

The man was seen standing on the outside of safety railings at the top of a three-storey car park at the Oastler shopping centre.

Emergency services made their way to the site just before 4.30pm today following reports a man was standing near the edge.

A crew from Bradford fire station attended along with an ambulance and and incident support unit. The area around Northgate was cordoned off while the incident was taking place.

A spokesman for the police said a police negotiator coaxed the man away from the edge and led him to safety at around 6pm. He is now in the care of the medical services.
