RESIDENTS were evacuated from homes this morning as fire crews tackled a blaze in a shed that contained an acetylene cylinder.
Firefighters from Odsal and Bradford stations were called to a property on Buttershaw Drive, Buttershaw, at about 8.05am.
Police said residents living close to the scene were evacuated as a precaution and that Buttershaw Drive was closed.
A West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said firefighters had concentrated a jet of water on the cylinder to keep it cool.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: "Emergency services have attended and found a shed has been set alight."
A witness said: "I was just driving past. There were firefighters, ambulance and police everywhere."
