ARMED police attended a property in Clayton today to arrest a man wanted on suspicion of firearms offences.
A member of the public, who contacted the Telegraph & Argus, said her son saw the incident as he was walking home from school.
She said: “My son saw police carrying guns and wearing balaclavas with ‘police’ clearly written on them.
“They were diverting cars away and he also saw them searching cars at the scene; they didn’t look like normal police officers.”
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Armed police attended on Bradford Road, Clayton at about 4.20pm to arrest a 26-year-old man on suspicion of firearms offences.
“A woman present with him was also arrested, and both persons remained in custody yesterday evening and enquiries are ongoing.”
