FIREFIGHTERS have warned people to fit smoke detectors after crews were sent to a flat fire where there were no alarms.
The fire broke out in the living room of a first-floor flat at Frizley Gardens, Frizinghall, Bradford, yesterday morning.
Two crews from Bradford and Shipley fire stations were called to the scene at around 10.30am and spent around two hours putting out the fire.
It did not spread to other apartments in the three-storey building.
The blaze is believed to have been caused by an electrical appliance.
No-one was in the apartment at the time and residents of the other flats in the building all made their way out safely.
A fire service spokesman said people could contact them to get a free smoke alarm fitted as well as a full fire safety check.
