A FORMER care home in Manningham could soon be converted into a 26 bedroom communal building.
Otley based Property Investments has submitted a planning application to convert Oakhurst Nursing Home, which shut in
April, into a house of multiple occupation.
The application says the building, on Oak Mount, will be known as Oakhurst Hall and refers to the development as a “Community Lifestyle Concept” with communal living and dining rooms, a library, laundry room and a cinema room.
The Grade II listed Victorian villa used to be a women’s home for the blind, and a care home, and Bradford Council’s heritage team have described it as “in remarkably good condition, retaining most of its original detailing including tall chimneys, decorative timber bargeboards and sash windows.”
The plans say there will be minimal external alterations to the building.
