THE father and first husband of Bradford bride Samia Shahid - alleged to have been murdered in a so-called 'honour' killing in Pakistan - have been further detained in custody.
Former husband Chaudhry Shakeel, who is described as the prime suspect, and Ms Shahid's father Chaudhry Shahid, made a brief appearance in court in Jhelum, Pakistan, earlier today.
Both men were sent to jail for 14 days on judicial remand and will next appear in court on September 5.
It was their third court appearance in connection with the death of 28-year-old Ms Shahid, of Oak Lane, Manningham.
Shakeel is accused of murder and is said to have confessed to strangling his former wife with a scarf.
Shahid is accused of being an accessory to murder.
Ms Shahid was found dead in Poteh, in northern Punjab, on July 20, after going to the village to visit her father.
