THOUSANDS of people basked in the sunshine as they enjoyed events across the Bradford district today.

In Bradford city centre, there was an upbeat atmosphere as revellers packed onto North Parade for the road's third annual street party.

Food, drink and advice stalls stretched the length of the street, with a stage for live music at the Upper Piccadilly end.

There was a sprinkling of fairy dust at a very busy Cottingley Fairy Festival, held at Cottingley Recreation Ground in Manor Road.

As well as a multitude of fairies - and a smattering of other characters - there was a dog show and live entertainment.

In Keighley, the seaside - complete with a sandy beach and mermaids - came to town, with locals enjoying donkey rides and a Punch and Judy show.

The Keighley-on-sea fun continues tomorrow and Monday.

Shakespeare fans descended on Roberts Park in Saltaire for free performances of the play Much Ado About Nothing, with families tucking into picnics as the actors and actresses strutted their stuff.
