A QUAD bike was recovered by police within 30 minutes of it being stolen from a Shipley business.

On Saturday a red quad bike (pictured) was stolen from a garage in the town whilst the premises was open for business.

A member of the public was able to direct the police to where the bike may be. PC Dave Hudson from the district bike team was just entering Shipley and was able to get to the scene quickly, and spotted two males on the quad bike on Hall Lane who proceeded to speed off.

The back offside tyre was flat which hindered their planned escape. It was soon abandoned in a cul-de-sac and both males ran from the scene leaving the engine running.

The officer captured their images from the police camera and is in the process of trying to identify them.

The bike has been restored to its owner and enquiries are ongoing.

PC Hudson commented “Thanks to the public for ringing and reporting the location of the bike. Without their help this bike would probably still be outstanding as a stolen bike. The bike was stolen and recovered within 30 minutes which hopefully sends a message out to bike thieves in the area.”
