EIGHT sixth form students have been celebrating completing a learning programme run by Bradford’s biggest social housing provider, Incommunities.

The students, from Tong High School and Buttershaw Business and Enterprise College, completed a Junior Graduate Employment Mentoring (GEM) course, which encourages young people into careers in the housing sector.

Tong student Georgianna Baldwin said: “I had never thought about housing as a possible career until I did the course.

“I’ve really enjoyed doing the assignments and the course has given me more confidence and helped my team skills.

“My placement has also given me the opportunity to find out more about how diverse housing is to work in.”

Students on the course obtain a Level 3 qualification with the Chartered Institute of Housing.

Incommunities chief executive, Geraldine Howley, congratulated the students on their success.
