DOUBLE-chasing Otley have the chance to avenge their only Aire-Wharfe League defeat of the season when they entertain Rawdon tomorrow.

When the sides met on the second weekend of the campaign, it was Rawdon who looked to be the side to watch out for. With Kuda Samunderu hitting 84 and Nathan Goldthorp taking 4-40, they eased to a 45-run victory.

But as the season developed, Rawdon slid away into the bottom half of the table while Otley have opened up a 16-point lead over Beckwithshaw at the top of Division One and last Sunday reached their 20th Waddilove Cup final by beating Burley.

Horsforth, who are four points adrift of Beckwithshaw in third, entertain Steeton, a side desperately needing points to get out of the bottom two.

With Byron Boshoff leading the batting averages with 755 runs in all competitions, 95 of them scored when Horsforth crushed Steeton earlier in the season, it seems unlikely that Steeton's cause will be much advanced tomorrow.

Despite that cup defeat, Burley have been one of the form sides recently and will be confident going up against Bilton.

Pool's recent good form should mean they will be too strong for rock-bottom hosts Kirkstall and so ease their own relegation concerns.

Ilkley are only 24 points above the drop zone and have a must-win match against Collingham, who are only a point behind them and won their earlier encounter by eight wickets.

Addingham's form has been erratic recently and their hopes of springing from fourth place to one of the Division Two promotion spots could well hinge on tomorrow's trip to high-flying Guiseley.

Hopes were raised when they beat front-runners Colton, only to then lose to third-placed Knaresborough. Then last week they were not completely convincing in beating struggling Thackley.

In their earlier meeting with Guiseley, a 4-8 spell from Marcus Brown skittled them for 64 in reply to their opponents' 281-6, which included a century for Tom Brady.

As well as trying to reverse that result tomorrow, Addingham must hope that Skipton can dent Colton's advance and Ben Rhydding get the better of Knaresborough, although both look long shots.

In the dog fight at the other end of the table, bottom side Harden face a tough match at Calverley, who will still be smarting from a heavy defeat by Colton last week.

Thackley have a crunch encounter against Illingworth, who are only four points behind them in the second relegation spot.

Like Addingham, Green Lane's hopes of staying in a promotion race could hinge on tomorrow's game against a top-two side, in this case leaders Hall Park in Division Three.

Already 33 points behind second-placed Tong Park Esholt, defeat tomorrow would surely end Lane's hopes of returning to the second tier at the first attempt.

That, however, could be the fate of Tong Park Esholt, who came down with them. After a miserable winter – when their future was threatened by floods – they are not only in contention for promotion but they have beaten the odds to reach the Waddilove Cup final. It will be a major surprise if their good mood does not continue tomorrow against third-bottom Silsden.

Olicanian would give them a further boost if they could halt the threat of third-placed Leeds Modernians.

Having slipped to only six points above the re-election zone, Bolton Villas need to rediscover the form that saw them comfortably beat tomorrow's struggling opponents Alwoodley earlier in the season, when Michael Clarke picked up 5-18.

Menston will be expected to overcome bottom club Upper Wharfedale but will have noted their opponents found some batting form last week, scoring 222-9 in defeat by Green Lane.
