A 22-YEAR-OLD man has been jailed for eight months for leading police on a high speed chase across central Bradford.
Matthew Ingham went at 60mph along Dick Lane during a pursuit in which he drove on the pavement and on the wrong side of the road.
Ingham, of Abbotside Close, Thorpe Edge, Bradford, admitted driving dangerously in an uninsured Ford Ka on April 12, between Leeds Road and Sutton Road. He ended up stuck in a field after heading off up a dirt track in a bid to escape the law.
Prosecutor Caroline Wigin today told Bradford Crown Court the offences happened at 3.20pm when children were on their way home from school.
Ingham's solicitor advocate, Nick Leadbeater, asked the court to give his client "a very, very last chance."
But Judge Jonathan Rose told Ingham that people in the Bradford area were "tired and frightened" of drivers like you.
He was banned from driving for 18 months.
