MORE than 30 jobs are set to go at Bradford-based company Kings Security.

The family-run firm, which is based at St Dunstans Technology Park, off Bolling Road, has blamed the redundancies on the loss of a contract with the Co-op.

A total of 68 roles will also be transferred to the new contractor, said a spokesman.

In a statement released today, Kings Security CEO Anthony King said: "Following the loss of a large national account, in a competitive tender process, Kings Security has made the difficult decision to enter into consultation with several of its departments, which is likely to lead to a number of redundancies.

"In addition, other staff who were also affected by the contract loss have TUPE to the new contractors – something which is standard practice for the industry.

"Kings Security takes great pride in its staff, investing heavily in training and development, and has won several awards for employee initiatives in recent years.

"Kings proactive approach to business has seen the company grow consistently over the last decade.

"Core to its success is its investment in technology which, combined with a series of strategic partnerships, has enabled the business to develop innovative security solutions.

"This in turn has helped Kings get a foothold in a series of new markets, providing a positive outlook for the business moving forward."
