A FAMILY from Pudsey jetted off to Ibiza after winning a competition to name a new aeroplane after their late daughter.

Tom and Cheryl Murphy started a social media campaign to name Thomson's new Boeing 787 Dreamliner after their daughter Edie, who died last year after suffering a fatal seizure at two-years-old.

After winning the national competition, the couple, along with their young daughter Annie (pictured), flew to the Spanish island from Leeds Bradford Airport.

Mrs Murphy said: "It's our first time abroad since our honeymoon in 2010, and we are celebrating Annie's first birthday over there too, which will be lovely.

"But, it will also be bittersweet because in a way the holiday has only come around because of the competition.

"It's incredible and overwhelming to have a plane named after her; we know that there will always be a little bit of Edie in the world and we’ll tell Annie all about her and the way she helped us to go on our first family holiday.”
