ARREST warrants have been issued after two men failed to show up in court today to be sentenced for a terrifying ram-raid on a Bradford shop.

Cameron Hall, 19, and Amir Khan, 21, were supposed to be at Bradford Crown Court this morning to be dealt with for burgling the One Stop store on Highgate, Heaton, in February.

Judge Colin Burn issued bench warrants not backed for bail against Hall, of Rook Lane, Dudley Hill, Bradford, and Khan, of Harewood Street, Barkerend, Bradford.

Both pleaded guilty at earlier hearings to being part of a group that rammed a 4x4 vehicle through metal shutters at the shop in the early hours and escaped with £500 worth of cigarettes.

The men, who were on conditional bail, had been warned they faced custodial sentences.

The shop owner, Harish Patel, pictured outside his shop after the ram-raid, said after the raid that he, his wife and young son were sleeping in the family's flat above the store at the time.

"The noise of them ramming the shutters was terrifying - we were all shaken up," he said.

When neither man turned up in court, prosecutor Imran Khan asked for warrants for their arrest.
