PLANS for two drive-through restaurant units at Thornbury Leisure Park have been approved despite initial opposition from Bradford Council.
A planning application for two separate KFC and Costa Coffee units on a section of the car park at Gallagher Leisure Park, in Dick Lane, was given the green light by Leeds City Council’s South and West Plans Panel today.
The plans, which were recommended for approval by Leeds City Council, received six individual letters of objection and a petition with 38 signatures.
These objections included the impact on public health, congestion and traffic pollution.
But Bradford Council opposed the application, saying the buildings would give a poor first impression of Bradford.
The application would create 60 full and part-time jobs.
