A 23-YEAR-OLD man who committed a sex act while watching a 15-year-old girl posing indecently in her underwear has been sentenced to a two year community order.

Peter Deighton used a headset linked to an Xbox to see the girl while he was at a friend's address on January 3 last year, Bradford Crown Court heard today.

Deighton, of Crag Road, Windhill, Shipley, pleaded guilty to causing a child to watch a sexual act.

Prosecutor Michael Smith said Deighton's friend woke in the early hours to see Deighton committing a sex act on himself while watching the girl on the Xbox.

The vulnerable teenager, who lived in Wales, was involved with Social Services, although Deighton did not know that.

Deighton's solicitor advocate, John Bottomley, said it was an impulsive offence. Deighton did not know the girl and she began the sexual activity.

He was a troubled young man with previous convictions for burglary and assault.

Deighton was now with a partner who was a stabilising influence on him.

Judge Colin Burn sentenced Deighton to a two year community order with supervision. He must take part in the Sex Offender Treatment Programme and do 150 hours of unpaid work.

Deighton must register with the police as a sex offender for seven years and a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, for the same period, restricts his use of computer equipment.

Judge Burn said Deighton was not a sexual predator but, as the adult, he should have realised what he was doing with the girl was wrong and inappropriate.
