WEST Yorkshire Fire & Rescue service is warning people in Bradford to be wary after an overheated laptop on a bed started a house fire.
The blaze started in a conservatory, attached to the back of a mid-terrace property in Luck Lane, Huddersfield.
The fire caused serious damage to the roof of the house and spread to the roof space of the two adjoining properties.
No-one was injured in the incident on Tuesday, May 24. There was no indication of a fault on the laptop itself.
The fire service has given residents a list of signs a laptop is overheating.
These include its fan always runs at maximum speed, frequent and sudden shutdowns to stop hardware damage. Always use a laptop on a hard, flat surface.
