STAFF at a Bradford pub have raised a glass after being crowned as the region's best boozer.

Brew Haus, in Great Horton Road, has been named as the best pub in Yorkshire and the Humber in the National Pub and Bar Awards.

The city centre venue was initially selected as the best pub in West Yorkshire - one of 94 county winners, chosen from hundreds of nationwide nominations.

This put them through to the grand final, at which they were announced as one of the 12 regional winners, announced at a ceremony in London on Tuesday, May 24.

The pub opened in October 2015 and serves a selection of craft beers and cocktails, plus a range of beers, wines and spirits from all over the world, as well as food sourced from local farms and butchers.

Aaron Mellor, managing director of Tokyo Industries which owns Brew Haus Bradford, said: "We are over the moon with the judges' decision and really excited both for the venue and for Bradford.

"When we invested to the level we did in Bradford, it was probably one of our most ambitious projects yet - the council and local business really got behind us, all genuinely feeling a wind of change."
