A BABY boy died suddenly in his sleep, a Bradford inquest heard.

Noah Hall, a healthy baby aged three and a half months, died from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

Noah had been a healthy baby who was born at Airedale General Hospital on October 29 last year and lived at Bankfield Drive, Keighley, with his parents and two siblings.

Assistant coroner, Mary Burke, said Noah said come from a loving home and offered her condolences to his family, telling them that Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, also known as cot death, happens without warning.

Citing reports submitted by the emergency services, she explained how Noah had been staying with his grandparents and aunt in Spring Gardens Lane, Keighley, on February 13.

The hearing heard how he had been put to bed in a Moses basket at about 10pm.

His aunt, who was sleeping in the same room, woke up and checked on him at 4.30am and found him unresponsive.

She raised the alarm and paramedics were called while his family tried to resuscitate him. Noah was rushed to Airedale Hospital where his death was confirmed at 5.05am on February 14.

Leeds-based consultant paediatric pathologist Dr Kerry Turner, who conducted the post mortem examination of Noah, told the hearing there was no indication of any internal or external injuries, infections, acute diseases or underlying physical disorders.

She said: "His death would have been very sudden and would have happened in his sleep."

Returning a narrative conclusion, Ms Burke said: "There are no prior warning signs that SIDS is about to happen. Noah did not suffer. He died in his sleep and it was a peaceful, sudden event."
