A MAN and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs after a pre-planned police operation in Manningham.

Officers recovered a quantity of Class A, cash and a mobile phone when they stopped a grey Peugeot 208 in Back Wood Street at about 10pm on Saturday, after receiving information about the vehicle's possible use in crime.

Its occupants, a 50-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man both from Bradford, were arrested and later released on bail pending further enquiries.

Detective Sergeant Steve Banks, of the Bradford District Organised Crime Unit, said: "This operation has led to the recovery of a quantity of Class A drugs which were probably intended for sale on the streets of West Yorkshire.

"We would like to thank the public for their continued support of our operations and would urge anyone with suspicions about drug dealing in their area to report them to police on 101, or report information about individuals, which can be done anonymously, to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111."
