EDIN Rahic will walk into Valley Parade tomorrow to herald a new era for City.

Rahic and Stefan Rupp will take over full control of the club, ending the joint reign of Julian Rhodes and Mark Lawn.

Talks with the German-based investors have been on-going throughout the season. But they were scaled down over the final few weeks to avoid becoming a potential distraction during City’s pursuit of the play-offs.

Rahic had been a guest of Rhodes to watch City’s home games against Coventry in November and Doncaster in March.

It is believed that he had also planned to be at the Den on Friday for the play-off second leg against Millwall before changing his schedule.

The Telegraph & Argus understands that Rahic will be based at the club but Rupp, who is thought to be worth up to £100 million, is likely to remain in Germany. Rupp has made his money through his company Fischer+Entwicklungen, who manufacture helicopter seats.

Rhodes, who has been involved with the club since 1997, and Lawn, who teamed up with him ten years later, will both walk away and have no say in any future decision-making.

Bosnia-born Rahic is set to meet the current staff and management over the next few days to outline where the club go from here.

Parkinson will be keen to hear what budget he can expect for summer player recruitment.

He has already announced his aim for next season to bridge the gap from finishing in the top six to an automatic promotion place – and will be looking for the financial backing to achieve that.

After the abortive takeover attempt by former QPR chairman Gianni Paladini last year, City were keen to make sure the deal did not drag on too far into the post-season.

By moving in straight after the play-off exit, the new owners will have plenty of time to make their mark on Valley Parade before the next campaign.

In a statement issued last night, the club said: “Bradford City can today confirm that we have been sold to two German investors. There will be no further statement until Tuesday.”

Rahic will be sitting down with the T&A for an exclusive interview to be published later this week.
