WYKE Under-16s, fielding 13 players for the first time this season, went down 42-14 at League One rivals Keighley Albion in the Yorkshire Junior League Challenge Cup.
The hosts had first use of the slope, and made that pay to lead 34-0 at half-time, stretching that to 42-0 as Wyke lost scrum half Connor Fawcett to the sin-bin for a professional foul, Josh Mitchell also having to leave the field.
However, despite being depleted, the visitors grew into the game, good work by centre Cain Holdsworth and captain Sebastian Blanco paving the way for forward Bobby Stewart to score.
He also got their second try, which was improved by Ben Proctor, and a late third try. Wyke's man of the match was Jack Dixon and their top tackler was Blanco.
