TRAFFIC was brought to a standstill tonight on the westbound carriageway of the M62 because of a fire.
Fire crews were called to a burning car transporter which has affected traffic between junctions 25, Brighouse, and 26, Chain Bar.
Police and firefighters attended the scene near to junction 25.
Traffic has now been allowed past the scene as firefighters damp down the burnt-out cars on the transporter.
Fire crews were called to the blaze at around 6.45pm. Crews attended from Bradford, Odsal, Cleckheaton and Rastrick.
At around 8.30pm, traffic was said to be "coping well" although a lane on the exit sliproad at junction 25 was still blocked.
Highways England said the westbound junction 25 exit had reopened at around 10.45pm last night.
It said that vehicle recovery had taken place and road surface repairs were required.
