ARSONISTS have been blamed for a fire at a derelict mill and an unconnected incident on grassland used by horses.
Three fire engines and an aerial platform from Leeds were mobilised to a fire at a disused mill on Vincent Street, off Sunbridge Road, Bradford just after 3pm.
Someone had broken into the building and set fire to rubbish.
A fire service spokesman said the fire could have been far worse had it not been quickly spotted and dealt with.
The fire is thought to have been started deliberately.
Fire-raisers are also thought to be behind five or six grass fires on land at Quaker Lane, Canterbury, just before 5pm.
One fire crew from Bradford dealt with the fires. The land is used for grazing.
A Bradford fire crew also dealt with a fire in a flat in Bromford Road, Bowling, just after noon today.
A large pan of food had been left on in the empty flat. Firefighters had to break into the locked flat through a window.
The fire caused a lot of smoke damage.
