ZAYN Malik will have a presence at every Bradford City home game next season.

The Tong-born pop star has paid for a hospitality box at Valley Parade as a thank-you for letting him launch his number one album Mind Of Mine at the stadium.

It will be named after his grandfather Walter Brannan, who first took the former One Direction star to matches as a young lad.

Zayn, who recently topped the charts with debut solo single Pillow Talk, wants to give under-privileged and sick children from the Bradford area the chance to watch in comfort.

A football club spokesman said: “We think it’s a wonderful gesture to support what we’re doing as a community football club.

“Zayn came to Valley Parade when he was younger with his grandad and, unbeknown to us, he was a huge Bradford City fan.

“We were approached by his representatives about launching his album here and we were more than happy to help one of our own.

“We willingly obliged for him to come to the stadium and gave him carte blanche for the day.

“There has been regular contact with his people since then about how he could help our campaign to ‘Upgrade the Parade’ and contribute to supporting the community in Bradford.

“We’re delighted to be associated with Zayn and think it’s brilliant there will be a box in his grandfather’s name.

“Ultimately it will be Zayn’s box to do what he wants with. But he has suggested it should be used by under-privileged and sick children.”
