A 35-YEAR-OLD man accused of forcing a teenager with a learning disability to pose in Fifty Shades of Grey bondage gear told a jury she "wanted sex all the time" and was happy to be handcuffed and blindfolded with a collar and leash round her neck.

Joseph Maxwell Spencer said he and the 16-year-old girl had been planning to marry after she pressured him into having sex with her.

Photos and film clips of the teenager indecently exposed in a red and black basque, wearing a gag and with rope round her hands, have been shown to the jury at Bradford Crown Court.

In one film clip, Spencer is having sex with her as she is handcuffed to a radiator.

Spencer, whose address was given as HMP Leeds, pleads not guilty to 12 offences - three of sexual activity with a child, one count of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and eight charges of making indecent photos and videos of the girl.

Prosecutor David McGonigal has alleged the girl is crying out in distress in the two video clips taken on Spencer's phone.

Mr McGonigal has also told the jury that Spencer was exploiting the vulnerable and trusting teenager for his own sexual pleasure and that he had sex with her when she was 15.

Spencer, who has no previous convictions, told the jury he was forced to become a child soldier in Liberia, West Africa, before running away and being taken to a refugee camp.

He came to the UK in 1998 and met the girl's family while living in temporary accommodation in Bradford.

Spencer said she was very chatty, not how she appeared before the jury on a video link when giving her evidence.

She asked to become his girlfriend and he was flattered.

The girl was aggressive and pressurising him to have sex.

She deleted photos of his former girlfriend from his phone and wanted to window shop for a wedding dress.

Spencer said she watched the film Fifty Shades of Grey "again and again and again".

She could not read so he ordered a film-themed pack from the internet and she was happy to try it on.

The teenager was happy for him to take the photos and she saw them on his computer. He got no sexual pleasure from seeing her in the outfit, he told the court.

Spencer said he did not have sex with the girl until she was 16.

"She came on to me," he stated.

The trial continues.
