THE top five UK locations for Bradford families to getaway to this Easter have been revealed.

The Yorkshire Dales is the most popular destination, followed by Blackpool, the Lake District, York and London.

Parents in Bradford will be spending £706.85 on activities this Easter, with the national average of £691.07.

The study of 2,000 parents by hotel chain Travelodge revealed holidaying families in Bradford will spend an average of £371.91 on travel and accommodation, £222.02 on activities and entertainment, and £166.92 on food and drink during their UK short breaks.

This is a contribution towards a £2 billion boost to the UK economy this Easter.

In total, 40 per cent of families will head away for a short break this Easter.

The report also revealed 88 per cent of people surveyed that holidaying in the north is a lot cheaper than the south and good value for money. Meanwhile, 70 per cent of adults stated that there is a lot more to do in northern England.

Shakila Ahmed, Travelodge spokesman, said: "We have become a nation of savvy shoppers and getting value for money has become a key part of our lifestyles.

"The pressure is on for parents to keep their children entertained during the Easter holidays and taking a short break can offer better value than lots of days out."
