A WOMAN'S violent partner put cat faeces on her face and burned her on the cooker during a succession of attacks at their home in Bradford, a jury heard today.

Sylvia Motowidelko, 31, suffered a series of injuries at the hands of Artur Kusz, who would become aggressive after drinking alcohol, it is alleged.

Miss Motowidelko told Bradford Crown Court Kusz, 38, kicked her in the face, smothered her with a pillow and burned her nose on an electric cooker at the flat they shared in Leeds Road.

Kusz denies two charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and one of battery, between August 26 and October 2 last year.

Miss Motowidelko told the court she was in a relationship with Kusz for a year and there was always trouble after he had been drinking.

On October 2, she contacted the police and told them he had kicked her in the face and body and burned her face on the cooker.

She suffered two black eyes, burns to her face and bruising to her leg and body, she said.

Miss Motowidelko attended Bradford Royal Infirmary on September 26 with an arm injury. She told hospital staff she fell downstairs at home but, the jury was told, Kusz had assaulted her by squeezing her arm.

She alleged he had also put cat faeces on her face after ordering her not to speak.

She said her hand was swollen and she suffered emotional pain.

Miss Motowidelko said she rang the police after Kusz packed her things into a suitcase and threw her out of the flat on a dark, rainy night.

His case is that she injured her hand falling down the stairs in slippers while taking out the bin.

She suffered the black eyes, burn and bruising when she was attacked by another man.

The trial continues.
